Rick's full report

It's been another bustling week for the CIC program at the High School, with activities buzzing like a beehive! Here's a snapshot of the progress:

Theater Stage Progress:

The stage set construction is in full swing. In just two full class days, with the help of volunteers, the students have built the base structure for the play stage. This impressive structure measures 16 feet in length, 12 feet in width, and stands 8 feet tall, with 6 walls framed. A major push is planned for the upcoming week to frame 5 sets of stairs and landings.

Tiny Home Construction:

Progress on the tiny home continues at a remarkable pace. This week, the facia and drip edge were installed, and installation of the standing seam roof panels is set to begin this coming week. BBC delivered the windows, and most of them have been installed along with the front door. Interior framing is ongoing, with beam posts and beams being installed. Meetings have been held with volunteer electricians and plumbers to plan the installation, and meetings are scheduled with cabinet, flooring, and appliance vendors to line up products for installation.

Volunteer Efforts:

A significant amount of volunteer time and effort has gone into making these projects successful, alongside classroom instructions. Visitors are encouraged to stop by during the week, as outside work is scheduled on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 am to 1 pm (except on 1/31 due to a school closure). Spending time with the students and speaking with Oakley can provide insight into the program's progress. Those interested in volunteering can reach out to Rick Fout, the team lead, or Paul.

Photo Highlights:

Below, you'll find a plethora of photos showcasing the hard work and progress made on both projects. Enjoy!
