Week Ending 12/10/23

This past week, the Construction Technology 2 class made significant progress on the Tiny Home Project, thanks to the collaboration of trade volunteers. Under Rick Fout's guidance, the class underwent a framing inspection via video with the inspector designated by BOCES. The result was favorable, and we are now cleared to start sheeting the home. This week, we began installing rafters, marking another milestone in the project.

We have some great pictures taken by Rick, which are attached below for your viewing.

If anyone is interested in volunteering to help with the build, please reach out to Rick Fout or Oakley. Work on the home is scheduled for Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

Carloanne, in collaboration with Val, has issued a press release to the media to schedule a media day on December 20th. So far, Matt Renoux from Channel 9 news has accepted the invitation and will be at the school to cover a story on the Tiny Home Build. We are also expecting responses from other media outlets. Great job, Val and Carloanne! Everyone is welcome to attend. For more details, please contact Carloanne or Val.

Nick Black from the Breckenridge Building Center has secured donated materials from Simpson Strong-Tie and Capital Lumber to help with the cost of the build for the Tiny Home. Thank you, Nick, for your support.

December 20th marks the last day of classes for this semester.
