We are proud to present the SHS Tiny Home, a testament to the skill and dedication of Summit High School's 2023/24 Careers in Construction class. This 9' x 30' tiny home is more than just a dwelling; it’s a collaborative effor tbetween our students, local tradespeople, and the support of the Colorado River BOCES EPIC program, along with generous contributions from local volunteers, vendors, and sponsors.
Built to endure the challenges of high-altitude living, this home features a durable standing seam metal roof with a 50-year Class A fire rating. The all-electric house is equipped with a 200-amp panel and a solar system, ensuring it’s both sustainable and energy-efficient. With capabilities for hot tub and car charging, this tiny home is ready for modern living.
Inside, you’ll find a cozy yet spacious layout that includes one bedroom, a large loft, and a well-appointed bathroom. The kitchen is fitted with Aristokraft Benton style cabinetry in a Burlap finish, complemented by sleek quartz countertops in Carrara Morro. The home is also equipped with a full suite of stainless steel GE appliances, including a stack washer/dryer unit, and a 4-burner ceramic glass cooktop.
Comfort is key, with a Mitsubishi Mini Split Heat/AC system designed to keep the home warm even in temperatures as low as -25°F. The interior showcases laminated watersafe flooring in a Driftwood color, a DreamLine shower, and premium insulation throughout, making it perfect for year-round living.
This year, the SHS Tiny Home will also serve as the box office for the Parade of Homes. Attendees are encouraged to stop by, check it out, and experience firsthand the innovative design and craftsmanship that went into creating this unique space. It’s not just a home; it’s a sustainable, efficient, and stylish solution for modern living, built by the next generation of craftsmen.
