Week Ending 12/17/23

The fall semester is coming to a close on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

We began the Tiny Home Build on November 17, 2023, and I'm thrilled to share that as of today, the walls are built and sheeted, the roof is installed and decked. Pending a roof inspection this Wednesday, we aim to have the unit dried in by the Christmas break. The students, led by team leader Rick Fout, have done an outstanding job. I want to extend my gratitude to volunteers Heath Coffman, Rama Timmons, Tim Authur, Bill Duford, and Silas, who worked hands-on with the students to achieve this milestone. The team really kicked it into gear during the last two class sessions, completing the roof and walls. A special thanks to the Breckenridge Building Center and Nick Black for providing materials on short notice. This project truly exemplifies teamwork.

As mentioned last week, Carolanne Powers and Val Connelly have arranged a media day on Wednesday, December 20th. Matt Renoux from Channel 9 news will be at the school to cover a story on the Tiny Home Build. Perhaps we will also have the Summit Daily in attendance. This event will serve as a fantastic finale for the semester.
